Asheville live music scene, Peggy Ratusz

Asheville’s live music scene loves Peggy Ratusz.  She’s one of those people you just want to get to know – and give her just a couple of minutes between sets – and you will know her. She is friendly, accessible and you can just feel the energy she brings with her. It’s that energy from doing something that you love.

The first time Steve and I heard Peggy sing was on the LaZoom bus at PopAsheville – in about 31 degrees winter weather – we were freezing! – but you never would have known Peggy and her band were – they were having fun, helping us to have fun, and singing like it was a day at the beach.

I videotaped her performance with the Velvetones at White Horse Black Mountain (one of our favorite places for music), and had fun interviewing her.    We talked about her hectic schedule, her love of music (blues, soul, jazz, funk, country)  and her songwriting.

Asheville’s live music scene is full of talent and Miz Peggy Ratusz has a solid place on the roster. She is having fun singing the blues.
