It’s early September so the summer tourist season has ended and we’re in the blissful little gap when the heat and tourists have left and the busy fall leaf season hasn’t commenced.
This is my favorite Asheville festival. The local dress for the occasion wearing whatever suits their view of themselves and their feeling about the day – a celebration of – of – whatever you want to celebrate!
LAAFF is the only 100% local Asheville festival – all music, crafts, performances are from locals and I
think the atmosphere is more intimate – more like a bizarre neighborhood party.
Lexington Avenue is one of our favorite streets downtown anyway, and a perfect setting for this creative event. It is one day, Sunday, and my recommendation is to go late afternoon. Usually the later the better.
Definitely a time to stroll and take it in all around you. We’re proud to “Keep Asheville Weird.”
